How Crammly works

1
Pick a chapter

Choose any module from a Canvas course you are enrolled in.

2
Crammly reads it

Pages, assignments, slides and PDFs become questions and a review sheet in about a minute.

3
Study nine ways

Swipe through the chapter, drill flashcards, race a speed round, then test yourself.

Nine ways to study one chapter

A practice test with an explanation for every answer. A one-page review sheet listing the big idea, what you must know, the key terms and the mistakes students actually make. Swipeable cards that get you through a chapter in about two minutes. Flashcards that bring back what you missed. Speed rounds, survival mode, match-up, true or false, and a confidence bet that shows you what you only think you know.

Questions students ask

How does Crammly make practice questions?

You pick a chapter from your Canvas course. Crammly reads that chapter's pages, assignments, slides and PDFs, then writes practice questions and a one-page review sheet from that material — so you are practising what your instructor actually assigned, not generic textbook content.

Does Crammly work with Canvas?

Yes. Crammly reads the Canvas courses you are already enrolled in, through a browser add-on that uses the Canvas session you are signed into. It never asks for your Canvas password and never creates an access token.

Can it read lecture slides and PDFs?

Yes. Crammly extracts text from PowerPoint decks, Word documents and PDFs attached to your modules and assignments. Scanned PDFs that contain only images have no text to read, so those are skipped.

Is Crammly free?

Yes — Crammly is free right now. Every study mode is unlocked, with no charge.

What subjects does it work best for?

Anything assessed with multiple choice and terminology: biology, anatomy and physiology, psychology, nursing, sociology, history surveys and most intro-level general education courses. It helps less with subjects graded on worked problems, like calculus.

Is this cheating?

No. Crammly cannot see unpublished quizzes, answer keys or anything your own account cannot already open. It generates new practice questions from your reading material, the same way you would if you had time to write your own.

Crammly is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instructure or Canvas.
